1. How can I make my packaging more earth-friendly?
Temkin primarily uses 100% recyclable films and water-based inks. We also offer a variety of biodegradable and compostable packaging materials. For specific information on all of our earth-friendly films, contact your Temkin sales manager.
2. Are Temkin products recyclable?
Most of Temkin's packaging solutions are made from 100% recyclable polypropylene. Laminated and metallic films, however, cannot be recycled. A variety of earth-friendly packaging films are also available including biodegradable, oxo-degradable, compostable, and sustainable solutions.
3. Which products are heat sealable?
All of Temkin's flexible film packaging solutions can be made using heat sealable materials. Acrylic coated BOPP is our most requested heat sealable film.
4. How long will my food products stay fresh?
Because freshness is largely determined by the product itself, it is not possible for us to estimate how long your specific products will stay fresh. We can, however, provide samples for testing upon request. Laminated films, anti-fog materials, vent holes, and laser microperforation options are available to help ensure the optimal oxygen transfer rate (OTR) for your food items.
5. Do Temkin products have a limited shelf life?
Polypropylene packaging does not have a limited shelf life. Biodegradable materials should be stored away from sunlight and microorganisms to prevent premature degradation.
6. Is Temkin packaging FDA approved?
Temkin's food packaging materials are all FDA approved for contact with food.
