We kid- while “less is more” (clichéd as the saying is) does perfectly describe the trend of minimalism, this growing trend is so popular that it deserves a closer look.

Minimalism is about focusing on only what is needed and stripping away anything that is considered unnecessary. This concept has permeated many different areas including architecture, web design, advertising, fashion, interior design, and has even become a lifestyle.

In design, minimalism focuses onfundamental elements like balance, form, and shape and is oftenassociated with a large amount of negative space, a black and white color pallet, clean simple lines, and the use of typography.

It’s easy to see why minimalism has become a go-to design trend. As the world becomes a more distracting place, with screens everywhere vying for your attention, it becomes important to get your message across quickly, efficiently and without distracting the viewer- once you’ve caught their attention of course.

With minimalism everywhere, how do you keep from being boring and looking the same aseverything else? This question has lead designers to push the boundaries of what minimalism can be, and new trends are emerging in the classic concept.

are being used more than ever before in minimalist designs. We’ve also seen other design trends such as simple gradients, bold fonts, and futuristic elements used alongside minimalist concepts to upgrade designs to make them come across fresher without abandoning the main tenets of minimalism that works so well.
